Richard Friedman
AGBC Honorary Chairman of the Board
Richard E. Friedman currently serves as President and Chair of the National Strategy Forum and Counselor, American Bar Association Standing Committee on Law and National Security. He also serves as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Syracuse University Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs National Security Studies Program.
Richard E. Friedman received his education at the Harvard School for Boys; Grinnell College, where he received an AB in 1951; and at Northwestern School of Law, where he received a JD in 1956. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1953 (Lt.). He practiced law in Chicago, Illinois. From 1964 to 1969, he served as First Assistant Attorney General, State of Illinois and drafted the Illinois Charitable Trust and Charitable Solicitation Acts. Mr. Friedman was co-contributor to the book "The Future of Foundations" (1975). From 1971-76 Mr. Friedman served as the Regional Director (Midwest) for the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare. He received a Presidential Citation for his work on the Indo-Chinese Refugee Resettlement Program (1976). Mr. Friedman has also served on special assignment for the U.S. Department of State in Romania, on the U.S. Army Science Board Ballistic Missile Defense Committee, as a consultant to the government of Republic of Georgia for legislation regarding national security and economic matters, and has participated in strategic planning conferences for Central Asian Republics.
Greg Saunders
AGBC VP and Director
Greg Saunders is Director for International Affairs in BP's Washington, DC office, responsible for the Caspian, Middle East, North Africa, and Europe.
Mr. Saunders joined BP in 2001, and the Washington office in August 2004 after a posting as the C&EA Manager within the Algeria Business Unit. Prior to joining BP, he was the Director for Policy at the Corporate Council on Africa, a corporate NGO in Washington. He culminated a career with the US military in 2000 following assignments in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He has been posted to Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
Mr. Saunders holds an MBA from George Washington University, an M.A. in International Relations from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a B.S. in Engineering from West Point. He serves on the boards of the American-Turkish Council, the US-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce, and the US-Algeria Business Council.
Laurence Storch
Director
Laurence Storch served as counsel to the Secretary of State's Advisory Panel on Overseas Security and as counsel to the Inspector General of the United States Synthetic Fuels Corporation. He has been an Independent Consultant pursuant to SEC settlement order and has assisted Audit, Special Litigation and Derivative Claims Review committees of public and private companies in conducting investigations concerning accounting, SEC, nuclear regulatory, FCPA and export controls compliance. He has been appointed as a Bankruptcy Examiner, as a Special Master and as an SEC Fund Administrator. Mr. Storch's government legal service included the Departments of State (Deputy Assistant Legal Advisor for Politico Military Affairs) and Energy (Executive Assistant to the Special Counsel for Compliance).

Mr. Storch has served as a member of the Army Science Board and as a member of the Department of Defense Advisory Panel on Government Industry Relations.
Mr. Storch has served as a member of MIT's Board of Trustees and MIT's Visiting Committee for the Department of Nuclear Engineering. He is a former member of The Commission on MIT Education.
